This page explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. It covers visitors to synergyaccounting.sg. Personal data we handle in the course of an engagement is governed by the engagement terms we agree with you.

Who we are

Synergy Accounting Pte Ltd (UEN 201321913D) is an accounting firm registered in Singapore, at 60 Paya Lebar Road, #06-28 Paya Lebar Square, Singapore 409051. We are the organisation responsible for the personal data described on this page.

What we collect, and why

We collect only what the site actually needs. In practice that is four things.

Enquiries. When you submit our contact form or send us a message through the chat window, we receive your name, email address, the service you selected, and your message. We use this to reply to you and, if you become a client, to set up the engagement. Both routes send the same email to our office; nothing you type is stored on this website.

Analytics. If you agree, we use Google Analytics to see which pages and guides are read, so we know what to write next. This records your IP address, general device and browser information, and the pages you visit. It does not load at all unless you accept.

Bookings and messaging. If you book a meeting or message us on WhatsApp, you leave this website and provide your details to Microsoft or to Meta respectively, under their own terms.

Server logs. Our web server records IP addresses and requested pages as part of normal operation and security. These logs stay on our own server.

We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site. Our fonts and icons are served from our own server, so simply reading a page does not disclose your visit to anyone else.

Cookies and your choice

The only optional technology on this site is Google Analytics. When you first visit, we ask whether you accept it. If you decline, or ignore the request, the Google Analytics script is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Whichever you choose, we store a single record of that choice in your browser so we do not have to ask again; it contains no personal data.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers that make this site work: Resend, which delivers enquiry emails to us; Google, which provides Analytics if you accept it; Microsoft, if you use our booking link; and Meta, if you contact us on WhatsApp. Each acts under its own terms, and we do not give any of them permission to use your data for their own marketing.

We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

Transfers outside Singapore

The providers above store and process data on servers outside Singapore. Where we transfer personal data overseas, we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that it will be protected to a standard comparable to that required under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act.

How long we keep it

We keep website enquiries for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted. If you go on to engage us, the accounting records created for that engagement are kept for at least five years from the end of the financial year they relate to, in line with the retention period Singapore company law sets for such records.

For analytics, Google retains granular event and user-level data for up to 14 months, and we have turned off the setting that would extend that period each time you return. Google retains aggregated reporting — overall page-view counts and similar totals, which are not linked to you — beyond that period, under its own terms.

Access, correction and complaints

You may ask us what personal data we hold about you and how we have used it, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. Write to our data protection officer at the address below and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You may also raise the matter with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.

How we protect it

This site is served over an encrypted connection, enquiry emails go to a mailbox restricted to our staff, and access to personal data is limited to those who need it to do their work. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we review these arrangements as our practice changes.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will ask for your analytics choice again.
