The two exemption schemes
Qualifying new companies get the start-up exemption for their first three YAs: 75% off the first S$100,000 of chargeable income and 50% off the next S$100,000. Everyone else gets the partial exemption: 75% off the first S$10,000 and 50% off the next S$190,000. The full guide covers eligibility and pitfalls.
The YA 2026 rebate
As enhanced after Budget 2026: a rebate of 50% of tax payable, a S$2,000 cash grant for active companies that employed at least one local employee in 2025 (the rebate is reduced by the grant), and a combined cap of S$40,000. IRAS applies it at assessment — there is no separate claim.
Official guidance
This calculator provides a general estimate, not tax advice or an assessment. It assumes all income is normal chargeable income taxed at 17% and that the selected exemption applies in full; concessionary rates, foreign tax credits and other adjustments are outside its scope. Figures checked against IRAS on 21 August 2026.
